I know this may seem like a bonehead question but I'm confused. I changed
the settings on my FP2002 so the elements that require the FP extensions are greyed out as my server doesn't have them installed and I don't want to be tempted with things I can't use. I've created a website with a link bar "based on navigation structure" because according to Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 281532 http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;281532 "custom link bars" need the Extensions. It says nothing about those "based on navigation". Was I too literal in interpreting the article in that it didn't mention "navigation structure" and so I used that component? That particular element is NOT greyed out. The navigation for the site works, the placeholders are there, it's just that the buttons do not show up. And while I'm at it. I included a media file with an mp3 plug-in. Does anyone know if I'm going to have the same sort of problems with it as well? I'm combining these questions because as I looked at the code I notice that the thing these two things have in common are webbots. Am I in over my head? Thanks, Ruth |

The standard navigation component does not require the extensions on the
remote server. If you have set your compatibility setting to disallow items that requires the extensions, then you should be ok, as these items will not be available to you. However if you have already added items to your page prior to changing the setting, then FP will not remove or disable them. |
