Hi,
I'm using MOC 2005 with LCS 2005/SP1 and am noticing the following behaviour: - The status of all my contacts is showing up fine. - My personal status seems to be showing incorrectly. With respect to my personal status, I sign-in fine but my status stays at "offline". I try to switch my status to "online" (or any of the other status settings) but they seem to have no affect... The only thing different about my personal setup is that my machine does not belong to the domain in which LCS is installed. I simply authenticate on MOC 2005 startup when it challenges me for my credentials. Any ideas? Thanks! |

LCS 2005 Enterprise or Standard?
The one time that I see this the most is when people connect directly to the LCS server, via server name or IP, when the LCS server is in an LCS 2005 enterprise pool. (Note: If you are connecting to an Access Proxy, then you need the AP name and not the IP). When using LCS 2005 Enterprise Edition it is very important to create the DNS record for the pool address and point the client to the pool address rather than directly to the server. This is important even in a single server environment. If you have a single server then you should create an A record for the pool that has the same IP as Server. Ex (A Records) Server1.domain.local - 10.10.10.105 Pool1.domain.local - 10.10.10.105 Ex with a load balancer (F5 or similar device) Ex (A Records) Server1.domain.local - 10.10.10.105 Server1.domain.local - 10.10.10.106 Pool1.domain.local - 10.10.10.110 (Note: This would be the virtual IP, or VIP, assigned to the load balancer.) Meni's LCS guide site has a quick overview of this process: http://www.lcs-guides.com/modules.ph...=article&sid=6 "Noel Derrah" <NoelDerrah> wrote in message news:69a1 [..] |
