I have just installed Beta 2 of 2007 and was working on my weekly report
which I send to my manager. I added the "send" dialog button to the "quick
access bar" so I would have an easy way to send my document as an email
attachment. Outlook 2007 is always open in the background on my desktop.
When I click the drop down menu from the send buttion and choose "email" as
an attachment, Outlook crashes and I get a mapi error of course because
Outlook is no longer available. This error occurs no mater if I use the
button I added or if I choose the option from the "File" menu button with the
office icon on it. If Outlook 2007 is NOT running, I can then choose the
send option and the mail form in Outlook 2007 comes up as expected.. Only
when Outlook 2007 is open before I try does it crash. Thought I'd share But
I am not sure if it is just me.

What is logged to the Event Viewer? Do you have any add-ins installed for
Outlook? Disable them and try again.

the error in the application log... event ID 1000:

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 12.0.4017.1006, stamp 445b7cf7,
faulting module colleagueimport.dll, version 12.0.4017.1005, stamp 44582714,
debug? 0, fault address 0x0000ad8e.

all my plugins are disabled and the same happens...

I'm no expert, but I'd wager this is related to the Adobe Acrobat Pro plug-in
that doesn't seem to be compatible with Office 2007 b2 (at least until the
companies settle their differences...). Try disabling the add-ins from any
Office app or remove them with Add/Remove Programs.

No report send option popped up during the crash. I only got the event log
error. Like i said before, I dont have any plugins. Adobe pro is not loaded
on this machine (reader is) but I dont think thats it.

The odd thing is, now when I try, Outlook does not crash, but I still get an
"Unspecified Error" message box in Word because MAPI failed.

Also, Outlook does not close for me at all now. When I exit, the window
will close but the icons still appear in the system tray and never go away.
I have to end task on Outlook before the application will exit. Even let it
sit overnight once just to be sure.
