I'd like to change the color of visited links to the default purple,
especially the list items, but I can't seem to circumvent Microsoft's
stylesheets. Can anyone help me customize the links? Thanks.

Try this code in the Content Editor Web Part. It's a Style Finder tool
created by Todd Bleeker.
