I have a user who created a meeting workspace subsite, instead of a team
website subsite. What are the advantages/disadvantages of workspaces vs. websites? Also - the meeting subsite was created under the top level site, instead of the 2nd level site. Is there a way to just move the meeting workspace subsite to the 2nd level site without having to delete the meeting workspace and recreate it under the 2nd level site? Which SharePoint product ?
If it's a v2 one you can move a site elsewhere in the structure with smigrate. It actually does a copy and then you have to delete the original though - it's not a straight move. This WSS FAQ item has the command line you need (halfway down) and a bit
more information around it most of which you won't need as you are moving to a site on the same server. http://wss.asaris.de/sites/walsh/Lis...orm.aspx?ID=71 Note that you always lose security info such as who has rights to access the site and you will need to re-create it in the "new" site.
