The scenario
* Create 2 breand new content types/ Provide each one with a word 2007 document as the template (each with some different text to test success). Attach both content types to a document library. * From the "new" dropdown on the doc library select the last content type on the list. * Add some text add save back. The content type attributed to the document will be the first one in the list (the default) *even though* we selected the correct type. * saving to disk and inspecting "item4.xml" inside the docx shows the wrongly selected content type. Correct the documents content type in sharepoint, download to disk and inspect item4.xml and you will see the correct content type. I've seen a couple of other posts and the suggests have been "check you have the content type added to the library" and "try again on a clean install" I have 5 installations on differing versions including a clean build MOSS SP1 and they all show the same issue without fail. Can anyone confirm this as a bug? Does anyone know a workaround? Uploading documents defaults the whole purpose of having the templates available from the "new" menu. cheers, Paul |

An update on this. It happens specifically when your document templates have
been in sharepoint at some time during their life. Ie you stored it in a document library. Documents that have never been in sharepoint do not cause this problem (providing you "upload" your template into the forms directory of the document library). Anyone any experience on this? cheers, Paul "Paul Devenney" <spam> wrote in message news:af85 [..] |

I'm having exactly the same issue. Were you able to resolve it?
Thanks, Mark |
