Does anyone know of a way to take items already in an outlook calendar and
export them to sharepoint with out having to enter each item as a new item?

Hi,
The two-way synchronization between outlook and MOSS 2007 is only possible
when you have Outook 2007.
Then you can download items from SharePoint and simply synchronize your
outlook with a given SharePoint list.
