Dear all,
I developed a sites in SPS [url down] I want to create a similiar site (siteB) in the server. I went site settings of siteA and save sites as template, then upload to the template gallery in portal root ([url down]) ..However when I create a new site, the saved template does not show up in templates list, so I cannot apply the saved tempate to a new site. Do I miss any step? Please help and thanks in advance. Jason |

You need to use STSADM for the site template to be available.
addtemplate Adds a site template to the template gallery. Note If you want the changes to the template list to take effect immediately, run the iisreset command after you run the addtemplate operation. Required parameters Optional parameters -filename -title -description Sample syntax: stsadm.exe -o addtemplate -filename <template filename> -title <template title> [-description <template description>] |

thx, Gary, it work, now i can pick the template in template selection
However, I found something strange, Actually I alreay have 2 site template in template gallery, however they does not show up in template selection. I used you method to add a new template, also run iisreset command, the new added template do show up in template selection but does not available in template gallery, so what is going on?
