I created a site in WSS and added several documents in word and excel
to a document library. My trouble is when I search for those documents
from the SPS2003 portal site, the documents don't come up and I get
"No results were found that match your query."

I can not seem to find many resources to have the search server in SPS
search document libraries, or even form or picture libraries for that
matter in WSS.

I looked at the settings part site settings ->Search Settings and
Indexed Content->Configure Search and Indexing and I noticed that under
General content settings and Indexing Status, there are no documents
indexed. Could this have something to do with it? And anyone shed
some light on this?

I have a fresh install of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 SP1 and WSS 2.0
SP 1 installed on WS2003 using MS SQL 2000 with SP3a applied. All are
installed on the same machine. Everything seems to be working except
the search.

Many thanks,

Luis

In addition, I can go directly to the WSS site where the documents are
stored and they come up. However, through the SPS search site they do
not. I also tried to run full portal content update and full
non-portal content update.

They would be in the non-portal content index. Is your site in the list
of sites to be searched. There is a check box that usually is checked
by default when you create a site. But you may have turned that off by
default. Have you set a scope rule for the site. Go thought those
other options that you can reach from site settings ->Search Settings
and Indexed Content->Configure Search and Indexing.
