I cannot find the answer to this anywhere. We have deployed an
instance of MOSS 2007 SE. Our taxonomy will likely be that of managed paths off the root web application site collection. Users will be given access to many site collections and their sub-sites based on their role and project work. One critcal requirement I'm asked to complete is to display on the web application root site collection (i.e., https://share.our_domain.com) an automated list of all sites the logged-in user has access to (i.e., https://share.our_domain.com/departments/it, [url down], etc.) so users do not have to bookmark the sites or have to remember URLs. Note: I do not want to use sub-sites off the root site collection because I need to enforce quotas, locks, seach scopes, etc. Is there a way to do this out-of-the-box? A third-party web part we can buy? Some what to program this? As a follow-up, how do organizations typically use that web application root site collection? What is the audience and what types of content is put there? Thanks for any help! |

Hi there,
out of the box i dont think so. U can try to use the Content Editor Webpart listing all subsites, and if a user cllick on one that he has no access, a restricted page is shown. Here , in Portugal we made a custom made Webpart to do the listing. If u want i can help you and your team developing a wp like that. Any help feel free to ask Scoutman, a portuguese connection stationsolutions On Aug 28, 9:25 pm, corwiniii <johnferraiu> wrote: [..] |
