I downloaded and installed the training site from MS. I installed it on my
server but I am getting an error at the Learner Site.

When I click on it, it says...

Unable to add a user to a Learner Role
STK has not been configured properly

Any help to fix this would be appreciated..

Thanks.

Same problem with an 11 Dec install in WSS 3.0 environment. Haven't
found a hint as to resolution.

Same problem here to. I installed 3 times allready.

-Installed MOSS 2007 Training
-Added the solution
-Configured the Training site for a specified site collection
-Gave rights to the DB service account
-Created a new training space
-Enabled the site feature

Each time I end up getting this error. Reinstalling doesn't solve
annything.

I installed the Software on the back-end. (web server for medium
server famrs).
I have:
-Front End web app server
-Back end
-SQL

I doubt you will also need to perform the installation on the Front
end (if that's even possible?)

I found that my works as long as I use it on the top site. ex:
portal.company.com

If I try to use it on a subsite it doesn't work ex: portal.company.com/sub

I don't know why that would make a difference though??

well it makes a little bit of sence. In the installation manual under
troubleshooting it says that if you encounter this error you should
run the Configuration Wizzard again (SP admin site). However in this
configuration site you can only select the main site collection, and
no subsites.
But I doubt the training kit can only work on the main site, that
would be very wierd!

We had the same install error and contacted Microsoft on the issue. It was
stated that this is a non supported installation.

One more vote for installing it on the top site. I had intially created my
new site collection for the training as http://server/sites/SPTraining, but
got the dreaded "Unable to add a user" error message. Nothing in the
Application event viewer. Deleted that site, created a new subsite off of
the root site as http://server/SPTraining, and it worked just fine.

Everyone may have already figured this out by now, but I was having issues
until I figured out that I was using the wrong site collection under "Office
SharePoint Training Configuration."

Had this problem and finally resolved it by checking the Application Pool
account in IIS, and found I had configured the wrong account. Once I set the
database permissions correctly I had to delete the training site, go back
over the Configure Office SharePoint Training steps (with Create a new
database unchecked, but Create permissions checked). Then create the Training
site again and this time it worked.

Good luck

I found this if you change your Site Collection to the sub site
http://server/sites/ when configuring the Office SharePoint Training it
worked

I now have http://server/sites/HO/IS/SPTraining/
