I've just completed a basic stand alone install of MOSS 2007 on my Windows
2003 Standard SP2. Got my SharePoint site up and running but now want to
make it accessable externally. Currently I have a WSS 3.0 site running on my
SBS server in a side by side installation because companyweb still exists
but not for much longer. My WSS 3.0 site is accessable both internally and
externally by using the following url's

Internal - http://servername:8084 Annonymous access is allowed.
External - https://FQDN:5050 Windows authentication required.

So on my new SharePoint site on my Windows 2003 server I access the site
internally

Internal - [url down] (a funny thing here. I can use this URL
from a desktop but on the server itself I get page not found error?

Externally I would like to access the site the same way using the above
convention...

External - https://FQDN:5051

Here is what I got in my environment........

Windows 2003 SP2 Standard member server
Presentation Server 4.5
Web Interface 4.6
MS Office SharePoint Server 2007

SBS 2003 Premium Server SP1
ISA 2004 SP3
WSS 3.0 (side by side install with WSS 2.0 companyweb)
Web Interface for SharePoint Server 2007

Disregard this statement in the above original post.....

Internal - [url down] (a funny thing here. I can use this URL
from a desktop but on the server itself I get page not found error?

The internal url works on the server and all workstations.

Allen,

I have the exact same configuration as you!
Got everything to work as it should.

You need to set up a listener in ISA for port 5051.
ISA to your member server needs to be https, otherwise the links do not
resolve correctly.
