I'm trying to model a web part connection relationship between an Event
Calendar and a Task List. The specific scenario is that the customer has
created an Events Calendar with entries for the corporations quarterly tax
returns and wants to send each event to the task list so that there is a
task created for filing the quarterly returns.

Anyway, I was able to successfully configure the connection going from
events to tasks, but no data is populated in the task list. Hm? Well, I
noted that there are radio buttons which become a part of each event row
after a connection has been defined, so I am then figuring that I have to
select an event using the radio button in order to publish it to the task
list. Now I"m suspecting that my scneario isn't supported, but for academic
purposes I'm wondering if it will actually populate the event title to the
task title (as that is how I've mapped it). Unfortunately no go. The task
list does not reflect any event data.

So, the 1st question, is why doesn't the connection happen successfully.
The 2nd question is a request for a confirmation that the web part
connection capability will not support the scenario as described above. If
this is true, does anyone have a work around (other than givign corasworks
more $$$$ for a custom webpart)?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

I assume that when you are viewing an event you want to be able to create a
new task and auto-populate the event name in the task list.
I have done something similar for Projects and tasks. See
