There is nothing to fix, that is how the program works. You need to insert the boot media for the system you are installing into the CD-ROM or floppy disk drive. For example if your installing Windows, place the Windows disk in the drive and try again. HTH |

Oldr versions of Windows did not come with bootable
CD's. If you are trying to install Win98, for example, you have to use the bootfloppy to fdisk, partition, and mount a CDROM driver before switching to the CD and running Setup. [..] |

I am experiencing the same problem as noted below. Trying to install Windows
98 2nd Ed as the O/S. I can press Enter with the O/S disc in the drive and continually get the same error message. Any suggestions out there? Dave >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "Mark" <anonymous> wrote in message news:280a [..] |

The solution has been posted in the newsgroup for Win98 dozens of
times. You need to: 1. Get a boot disk and boot from it, most Win98 cds aren't bootable. 2. Fdisk, reboot, and format the virtual drive 3. Mount the Win98 cd-rom 4. run setup from the cd-rom I made a Win98 package that includes the first 2 steps I mentioned. You still need a Win98 cd-rom and license to use it.
