There is nothing to fix, that is how the program works. You need to
insert the boot media for the system you are installing into the CD-ROM
or floppy disk drive. For example if your installing Windows, place the
Windows disk in the drive and try again.

Do you have a virtual machine set up with a virtual hard
disk? Whats the OS that you have installed in your vpc?

Can you elaborate a bit more on the settings of your vmc?

Thanks

Oldr versions of Windows did not come with bootable
CD's. If you are trying to install Win98, for example,
you have to use the bootfloppy to fdisk, partition, and
mount a CDROM driver before switching to the CD and
running Setup.

I am experiencing the same problem as noted below. Trying to install Windows
98 2nd Ed as the O/S. I can press Enter with the O/S disc in the drive and
continually get the same error message. Any suggestions out there?

The solution has been posted in the newsgroup for Win98 dozens of
times.

You need to:

1. Get a boot disk and boot from it, most Win98 cds aren't bootable.
2. Fdisk, reboot, and format the virtual drive
3. Mount the Win98 cd-rom
4. run setup from the cd-rom

I made a Win98 package that includes the first 2 steps I mentioned.
You still need a Win98 cd-rom and license to use it.
