Yes, I am experiencing the same problem, the debugger
hanging all to often, although sometimes it works fine. In the end, I have to use the debugger only when absolutely necessary, once I compile my changes, I flip back to a web page and click a shortcut to the page I made changes on to check the results. If it didn't go to plan, then I grit my teeth and hit F5 with my fingers crossed and pray to Bill Gates that it'll work. Not very hi-tech, but that looks like the only solution I have found. I'm using XP and have disabled Norton Anti-virus (because that always causes problems). Lets hope that Microsoft get their sh*t together and release a version of Visual Studio .Net with a working debugger some time VERY soon. Tony. P.S. What alternatives to Visual Studio .Net are there (if any) for writing ASP.Net Applications? I think I might enter another post about that! >-----Original Message----- >I'm sure this question has been posted previously, but I can not find an >adequate answer. Hi Tony,
I am sorry I was away for a while. Are you still repro'ing this issue? When devenv hangs, can you attach another instance of devenv (attach as Native) to it and break? If so, could you please do a Debug->Save Dump As, and send the saved dump to me at deeptanshuv? (save without heap, that will save a small dump of size ~25-50 KB) Thanks & regards, Deeptanshu. |
