We have a problem with a new cluster installation.
When we try to add or to join a node to an existing cluster on a Windows
Server 2003-based computer , we receive the following error message:

Error 0x8007042b: The process terminated unexpectedly.

We do not use NTLMv2.

On the node which should be added to the cluster we will get Error message:
Event ID 1079:
The node cannot join the cluster because it cannot communicate with node
NODE1 over any network configured for internal cluster communication. Check
the network configuration of the node and the cluster.

This Event was seen in W2000 and was related to NTLM, etc.

Any ideas ?

I would start by verifying the network configuration with KB 258750. Also
make sure you have communication across both networks between the nodes.
What it sounds like is that the networks that you have in your cluster are
not configured for Internal Cluster Communication. Look at the properties of
your networks from within Cluster Administrator on your functional node and
make sure you have a network deicated to internal cluster comm and one for
all comm.

Hi, I'm also having the same exact problem. I have already double checked my
connections based on KB258750 but the error persists. Besides having a
public and private connections the setup also has a private connection to a
NAS. Any Idea?

Thanks!
