I'm trying to run a program called Samurize. It is a system monitoring
program that basically uses dlls and images to perform gadget-like tasks and
for the most part, it works perfectly on my Vista Home Premium system.
Nevertheless, I need to disable UAC to get some applications of this program
to function properly.

My problem is that certain dlls still do not function properly with UAC off,
and are even worse with the UAC on. I know this is a fact because when I turn
UAC on, I cannot fix the problem, however when UAC is off, I CAN alleviate
the problem for some dlls by starting them (directly) instead of through
Samurize.

Furthermore, with UAC off I was able to get all dlls to function by
correcting the permissions with the files. However, now that I have reboot my
system, I cannot get the permissions settings to save. I check them, hit
apply and it looks like they apply, but then the check marks disappear.

Does anyone know how to keep the permissions settings for my Samurize
folder/dlls and stop Vista from letting me access my own files?

I'd like to correct the last sentence:

Will someone please offer me a suggestion as to how to get Vista to to apply
the permissions settings I select permanently so that Samurize can access my
files correctly?

According to what I have read the provider admits there are still
bugs in the programme as regards Vista. Amazingly he admits
"Currently I do not have a fully functional Vista computer so fixing
these defects will be slow."

=) Yes, I've seen that too. I only ask because if I can fix some of the
problems by editing the permissions, that would be great. However, I'm having
trouble editing the permissions, as I noted above.

I figured out to apply the permissions I wanted, but my problem now is that
I cannot get the permissions to be permanent. They revert themselves back to
default after I access the folder a few times.
