Did you know that the most dangerous place in the whole world to put
your body is in a car, van, truck or SUV? It's even more dangerous than
taking a stroll in downtown Baghdad at night. It's interesting though
that you pulled a Frank with Stephen and insulted the messenger rather
than addressing content.

No that is true and everyone knows that it is true. If you believe
otherwise then it's you who don't have ubuntu installed!

Actually I could afford a Lexus or Mercedes just fine. Drove an Audi
before I had the Fiero.

However, it wasn't economically feasible to take the Audi with me from
Germany to the US earlier this year. Would have cost me more than it was
worth.

Additionally, I got seriously tired of paying somewhere around 600-700 a
month in car payments and insurance. In contrast, the insurance for the
fiero is $400 per year and maybe $100 maintenance a month most of which I
can do myself as I have a lot of automotive experience.

The most important reason though why I drive the Fiero that goes above
all other reasons? I absolutely love that car for what it is. Once you go
to a car with a mid-engine chassis you don't go back to anything else.
Working on cars is a hobby of mine that I enjoy quite a lot.

So yea, I could be driving a Lexus, Mercedes, whatever. But I rather
spend my money on other things.

one of the most prolific writers in the world, a true creative genius, uses
Linux to write...

He could not "play" with windows with its crap... its just to dangerous with
all those viruses around.

He is making millions using linux as a platform... so you see its not the
tool.. but the person behind the tool.

Spreading FUD. My HP works just fine. Infact I didn't even need to load
these to get basic printing in my all-in-one.

http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/index.html

If they are not already loaded, I am sure they are in the package manager.

Most security experts not employed by Microsoft or have some encumbrance
placed on then, will agree you don't run MS-Windows (any version) if
security is a top concern.

If anyone does not believe me, attend the Black Hat conference which
attracts real hackers and security exports and take your own poll on what
they run. While you will see MS-Windows, it will surprise you how many
Linux and Apples you will see.

Any OS can be root kitted. Just that in most cases MS-Windows users run as
a admin user and memory/process separation sucks in MS-Windows, makes it
ultimately easier to root-kit a Windows system. Vista might be better, but
is not where it needs to be.
