I'm running Vista x64 on a Dell D630 with 4GB RAM (max allowed). Over time
(a day, maybe two) available ram drops to the point where the system complains that i have to quit apps to free up memory. I quit the only thing that's running (Firefox) and that doesn't seem to free up anything significant. I need to reboot to get my RAM back. anyone else seen this behavior? |

Only when I once deleted my page file to see what would happen. Do you know how to check yours? |

Are you running any antivirus or other 3rd party security programs? Some extensions for Firefox are known to cause this as well. |

Hi,
If, as has been suggested, the problem lies with Firefox, then closing it will not resolve the problem. A "leak" is actually the opposite thing, the program does not release memory that it's no longer using. Only by rebooting are the handles released. |

In addition to not releasing memory, Firefox has been known to give your cat warts. If you don't have a cat, you should be okay on that front. |
