Hello,
I have a Sony Vaio with WindowsMe. It is almost 3 years old. I would like to wipe everything out of my harddrive because it's just stalling out way too much. I have restored my computer to factory settings and it runs ok but it starts to act funny very quickly. I'm thinking there is something in my hardrive that I can't get rid of so I would like an eraser (free if possible) that will clean out my computer. Also, after about an hour my tower will begin to beep in one long beeeeeee...p until I turn it off. Any clue why? Too hot? Dirty? Thanks |

This sounds like possibly an overtemp warning -
1) switch the PC off 2) clean the innards - blowing out the dust-bunnies, and check that the fans are all turning freely 3) check that the vents are unobstructed front and rear 4) If the above doesn't fix it, then it may be time for a service in the shop. |
