Our xp embedded machines take a long time to shutdown, any ideas what we
might be missing?
they also take a while to prompt for login information the first you try to
rdp into them but we think we just need to set terminal services to start
automatically, we just havent done it yet.

cs,

Is it possible that there might be some services running on your runtime
that may take a while to stop?
Just to narrow the problem try using shutdown.exe and xpepm.exe tools from
XPe Repository and see if the shutdown time is still the same. Supposedly,
the "xpepm -shutdown" should be faster.
