Since I offered an opinion before I refrained from doing so now. But since
nobody offered an answer, here is my answer again with some questions for you to help you decide. 1. You have a lot of time to devote to learning this? 2. You are going to use this almost every day? 3. You are interested in becoming a graphic artist, using pictures you have taken and working with them to transform them? If the answer to the above is Yes, get 6 and be prepared to spend a lot of time learning it. You will have tools that do not exist in PSE5, but to reach these tools, understand them and use them properly you will have to spend a lot of time. Photoshop is for graphic artists or photographers who will spend a lot of time learning it. PSE 5 is for photographers interested in making their pictures better and using them for all kinds of fun projects. PSE 5 is much better suited to work on photos is you are a beginner and you are going to use this once in a while to retouch photos or create projects with photos. Photoshop is more of a drawing
program geared for drawings, graphic designing, etc. whereas Photoshop Elements is a geared for photos and leaves out all the extra stuff for graphic designing, etc.. There is a toll free number and free chat by their sales staff who are eager to sell you one or the other or both..... https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/sto...ibutionOID=103 "Conor D" <conor_dalton> wrote in message news:b6a4 Can someone tell me what the difference with the above two named programs, I have a choice of keeping one, but i was under the opinion that Photoshop 6 is an old version but yet there seems to be more detail in the Photoshop program then Adobe elements 5.0..... |

Could you please add your opinion about Photoshop
7. I assume it will take time to learn too but what can it offer or where is a good website that will tell the pro's and con's. If not Photoshop what do you think is the best Photo program out there. Thanks "Yves Alarie" <rd50@> wrote in message news:4632 Since I offered an opinion before I refrained from doing so now. You can go to the Adobe site and get a table comparing the last version of
Adobe (Adobe CS2) with Elements 5, but I don't think you can find such a table comparing Adobe 7 to Elements 5. Still huge differences between the two. However, it depends on how you view these differences, in terms of number of items available for use or in terms of how easy and fast you can use them Let me give you a few examples. 1. Red eye removal. Click and click with E5. Not so easy with A7. 2. Remove an object or person from a photo and insert it in another. Easy to do with E5. Not so easy with A7 In the above examples, the improvement is how much easier it is to do with E5. The other important factor is how fast improvements are made and tutorials available and how much better the tutorials are for E5 than A7. With E5 you can get a DVD on portrait retouching by Dave Cross and the tutorials will get you on you way. Can you do better portrait retouching with A7? Yes and what one would use to embellish a face for the cover of Vogue, but it takes a lot of learning hours to do this. Can you use E5 to get a really nice portrait. Yes and you can do it much faster. The final issue is Help. With E5, you get much better help in context of the work you are trying to do. One final word, if you get E5 and you master it and you want more, everything you learn with E5 will stay with you. With A7 you move backward, with E5 you move forward.
