Barbara, what exactly are you trying to do?
To open a CMD session, Click Start, Select Run, type in CMD You'll get a black box with writing it it. Perhaps you should repost describing what you want the CMD session for and maybe someone can give you directions to achieve whatever you're trying to do. PS you're not thick - just learning.
