The response to the post titled "Hey" from Shenan Stanley is really excellent!
Thank you Shenan.

It lists a detailed guide for taking care of one's computer. I wish I had
such a thing BEFORE my PC was seriously hacked, when I didn't know anything
about dealing with these creeps.

I just wanted to agree wholeheartedly. Since installing SP2, I have been
scanning this newsgroup for months trying to solve various problems and tweak
perfomance (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) and am struck by the
scornful attitude SOME pros have towards those of us less computer literate.
Having someone actually provide assistance in a helpful manner is refreshing,
especially when you consider that computers are marketed to the average (in
that using a computer is not our life's work, but a convenience or hobby)
consumer as user friendly ("Plug -n-Play"). I automatically updated to SP2
on one desktop without questioning Microsoft---they said here it is, I said
thanks. I am being much more cautious installing SP2 on my other computer,
and Shenan's post is step one.

Wow..
Thank you both.

I am glad to know I have at least helped someone!
I'd be the first to admit I can come across with an "attitude" sometimes -
but I do try to subdue it to a point. =)
