A number of users are currently experiencing an issue with using the
Resource Manager from the console. On displaying the resource manager and clicking on the expand icons in the tree view the page updates and displays a message stating that it is 'Retrieving nodes...'. This is where things start to get strange, on my test machine the resource manager page updates and displays the nodes under the selected node fine. On other users machines it sometimes works fine and other times the 'Retrieving nodes...' message remains until the page errors out with the standard "The page cannot be displayed" error or the nodes are displayed after a long wait (5-10 minutes). Some machines seem to experience the problem more than others. The users machines are comprised of a standard installation performed across the whole organisation with the same versions of Windows XP, IE and services packs installed. There appears to be no issues with network performance or latency between the users machines and the CMS Server. The only peculiar thing I can find, and I don't know if it is related to the problem is a strange entry in the IIS log file at approximately the same time the resource manager has played up. The contents of the log file look something like this: 2004-09-20 05:18:08 X.X.X.X OPTIONS / - 80 - Y.Y.Y.Y Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/5.1.2600 401 2 2148074254 2004-09-20 05:18:08 X.X.X.X OPTIONS / - 80 Domain\User Y.Y.Y.Y Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/5.1.2600 200 0 0 2004-09-20 05:18:08 X.X.X.X PROPFIND /c$ - 80 - Y.Y.Y.Y Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/5.1.2600 401 2 2148074254 2004-09-20 05:18:08 X.X.X.X PROPFIND /c$ - 80 Domain\User Y.Y.Y.Y Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/5.1.2600 501 0 0 My test machine works fine but if a log onto one of the users machines that experience this problem (as a CMS Administrator) then I to experience the same problem so I don't think it is a users role security issue. If anyone else has experienced this problem and can offer some advice on a resolution then it would be much appreciated. Cheers Brett |

Hi Brett,
there are no known issues with this. Please open a support case for this as we will have to analyze network monitor traces to see where the delay occurs. Cheers, Stefan. |
