System: MCMS 2002 SP1a
Server Version: 5.0.4484.0 <- copied from About MCMS screen. Problem: Implemented maintenance program including Deleting Revision History via the Site Manager. However, the Revision History of any posting last Approved before Delete Date no longer shows anything in the Approved Revisions list. If you then Edit, Save, and Approve the page, the Revision History shows the just Approved item in the list. I was under the impression that the current Published posting is the most recent Approved Revision, thus there should always be at least one entry shown in the Approved Revision list for any posting that has been Approved at least once. So, is it a bug that the Delete Revisions seems to be deleting the most recent Approved Revision from the list even though the page still exists as a Published page? |

just verified on my system: here I can see the latest approved revision in the revision history browser of Web author. Cheers, Stefan |

Stefan, I just want to verify;
In your system, was the most recent Approved version in the Revision History list approved earlier than the Delete Revisions date? On our system, EVERY approved revision with an approval date prior to the Delete Revisions date is removed, thus leaving older pages with nothing in the Approved Revisions list. This is a real problem with some customers as when they start a new edit on these pages, there is no prior approved revision to compare against to verify what has been changed in the Saved revision prior to Approving it. Before taking on the time and expense of starting a Microsoft support ticket, I want to know if this sounds like a bug to you, or if there is some other system setting or procedure we need to look at.
