I've not seen a solution for this elsewhere...and it can be a pain as I've 'trained' my g/f to put my current game disc back in the console after she's watched a movie :) |

If that's the case, you do not force the tray closed. You swap the discs,
and then use the very archaic "Close Tray" function from the Dashboard. Oh yes, and it actually is #21 of the Xbox 360 Laws from Xbox MVP DeaconBlade 360 at http://www.unscripted360.com/xbox-360-laws/. |

Thanks, excellent site, hope that answers mine and the OP's question...now to learn the rules by heart and re-train the g/f :) |

LOL! Good luck on the retraining. And if there's any question that I would
say that, ask my Wife because she knows I would never, ever (dare) say something like that. 8-) |

Will sure it does. That is the nature of the beast. If you close the tray
it will run the disc in it. Just leave the tray open until ready to play that particular game. The purpose of opening the disc tray, putting a disc in it and then closing the tray is for it to load up to play. |

Hmmm, whilst I can train the g/f to replace discs I have had no success in training the cat not to walk on things that may break, like open CD trays :( |
