I just installed the SP3 download from Microsoft.
(Version 20071130.213629)

It hasn't changed anything that I have noticed, except for the headers in
IE7. I cannot rearrange the bars (lines) anymore.
I notice no difference in boot-up speed.
I was completely up-to-date on Microsoft updates, so that might make a
difference.

Of course, the final SP3 pack may be different.
(But for my machine, I doubt it.)

Anyway, I enjoyed the 366MB download, it helped me check my d/l speed on my
new EVDO set up.

WinXP SP3 is still in beta. Please enjoy posting to this forum to discuss
as it's not supported here:

There was a point to your post? Like you didn't have a clue for what
to expect to happen after installing SP-3? So what did you ever
bother to test, like performance, after installing SP-3? Are you a
developer that was hoping SP-3 would crash Windows XP so you could do
some training on debugging an OS?

You thought your review actually had some value? If so, what value?

SP3 wont add any new feature, it will only bring XP up to date in one single
pack, that is what a ServicePack is for.

Sp2 for XP was in fact a "XP Second Edition" plus hotfixes, and this will
not happen again.

Not entirely true that SP3 won't include new features, download
and check the Overview document for SP3:

SP3 does add new features. What are you talking about? Please review
the SP3 overview:

As others have said, SP3 does add new features & many who have beta
tested, noticed speed improvements, but not however, with the equivalent
in Vista. Go figure?

While there are four "modernizations" to XP in SP3, I agree with Sascha. If
SP2 had not been all about security it could have been XP Second Edition (or
R2 in today's nomenclature) and cost money like Win98SE did. But MS was
more concerned with quick adoption of a more secure OS and charging money
for a new version of XP would have certainly slowed adoption.

Pointless, of course, but interesting.

What rubbish. We've learnt a least two new things.
Go change your hammer for a pacifier so you have an excuse to shut up.
