I have a Dell Dimension 4600 desktop system running XP Pro SP3. When I
shutdown and select Standby the system goes into standby but within
half an hour the system wakes up all by itself. Can any suggest what
might cause this? I have two other XP systems and neither of them
exhibits this problem.

Wake on lan, scheduled tasks, updates....

Go to Start/Run and type in: eventvwr.msc

Is it connected to a network? I've seen WOL (Wake On LAN) settings cause
this .
