In excel even after protection if we try to search using find we can unearth
the hidden value. This seems to be a security breach. live in Holland, so come and get it), but please keep in mind that 'worksheet protection' was never invented for hiding data - it's just there to make sure users won't edit cells that shouldn't be editted.
