Hi There,
If I try to install Exch2007 tools on Vista (because we can't install 2003!) in an Exchange 2003 environment, it asks to modify the AD schema. Anyone know if this will break Exchange 2003 at all? Thanks and Regards, B |

Just run up a virtual PC instance of XP and do that. It's way simpler. Of course, there is: http://nikste.wordpress.com/2007/12/...ools-in-vista/ but I don't know if that will interfere with your running of EMC/EMS and ESM all together. |

Hi
You cannot use Exchange 2007 management Console to administer Exchange 2003 servers. Henry "B" wrote: [..] |

What I was more particularly interested in, rather than using the
Management Tools is the availability of the CreateMailBox() function to be used by VBS to create mailboxes. The above link describing the method to register those DLLs don't seem to make that function available. On Jun 4, 1:14 am, Henry <He> wrote: [..] |

Hi
this should be part of Exchange Management CDO (cdoex.dll). Have you tried this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en Henry "B" wrote: [..] |

However, as per documentation mentioned in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...EXCHG.80).aspx Important: Although you can view the Exchange 2007 configuration objects in Exchange System Manager in Exchange 2003, you must use only Exchange 2007 tools to manage Exchange 2007 objects. Its best not to use any such thought of working with E2k7 tools on E2k3 objects - Read this documentation further written in . http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/20...09/429135.aspx So which tools to use on which objects? Here's the easy list to remember: - Exchange 2007 mailboxes must be managed with Exchange 2007 management console or shell. - Exchange 2007 mailboxes MUST NOT be managed with Exchange 2003 tools. Note that this is not blocked, but mailboxes managed from Exchange 2003 ADUC will not be fully functional. - Exchange 2003 mailboxes can be edited or removed with Exchange 2007 tools, but cannot be created by Exchange 2007 tools Hope this clears all your questions. |
