Hello,
I am soon migrating Exchange 2003 mailboxes to an Exchange 2007 SP1 server which reside on a Windows Server 2008 O.S. First I have to get the backup in place and working. I am using Symantec BE v12 SP1 and I have followed all guidelines when configuring this backup of the Exchange stores. Now, when I am backing the stores up I get Access Denied messages which I have started a case with Symantec Support. One thing that is strange though and which I was hoping anybody in this forum to help me with is that when I start EMC on the 32-bit O.S. on which BE v12 reside, I also get Access Denied - see down below. Maybe the backup error and this error derive from the same source ? Anybody ? Error message from 32-bit EMC on backup server when starting it up: -------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- The following error(s) were reported while loading topology information: Get-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory Failed Error: Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS) directory entry. For backups, you might look at this.
https://forums.symantec.com/syment/b...&thread.id=543 There is a registry change needed to allow remote streaming backups. "Johnny Lundgren" <JohnnyLundgren> wrote in message news:ea4d [..] |

If Yes - see if you can connect to the server using IIS console, else if its not installed check if you can install and run the backup again (if it works you know what the problem was) |
