Forgive the subject line, I'm not usually an alarmest.

I just mis-typed a DOS copy command that ended up over writing an important
file. The command was:

F:\Folder>copy g:\folder~old

I ment to coplete the command and copy 1 particular file from the old
directory over to the new. Instead it started to replace all files. No do
you wish to overwrite message. I hit CTRL+C as soon as I could but 34 files
were copied. Only one of the 34 is important, unfortunately it's VERY
important.

ANY WAY to get it back without going to yesterdays tape? No shadow copy is
not turned on, unless it was by default (not likely).

Sorry buddy,
If Shadow is off (Only "on by default" on the installed partion of the
user data), then tape is your friend.

Good luck.

yes, simply restore the file from your most recent backup.

Don't have one of them? Bet you do next time.
