Hello Everybody.

I have a computer which has a SATA hard disk. During the original XP
installation, at the beggining of it, I had to insert a diskette which
had the drivers for the HD because XP didnt originally recognized them.
I need to do a new installation of XP and I have the original diskette
with the drivers, but the computer had the 1.44 drive recently removed,
therefore I cant install the drivers because the installation requires
that the drivers come from a 1.44 disk.

Has anyone seen this problem before or know a way to work it around?
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Adding back a floppy will be th easiest solution.

If the PC is relatively new, even an external USB floppy might be
sufficient. This assumes that the PC's BIOS can recognize and use the
external floppy. Depending on the PC, you might have to tweak something in
the BIOS to get this to work. Remember to carefully write down all BIOS
settings, in case you need to go back.

Don't use the RAID drivers. You know you can still install and run XP
without using the SATA drivers. Just might run a little slower.
I have done this myself up until recently when I purchased a floppy and
then did a full re-install of evrything including the SATA drivers.
