I'm starting to play around with VirtualBox and I have to say that, at the
moment, it sure works a whole lot better and incomparably faster than qemu. Nonetheless, there is a bit of a problem. It seems that it isn't possible to access USB drives from a VirtualBox virtual machine. I don't know if that is one of those distro-specific quirks or an application SNAFU but it is strange how an option which is mentioned extensively in the application's manual is missing from the application itself. So, is it possible to access USB drives from a VirtualBox virtual machine? If so, how is it done? Thanks in advance Rui Maciel |

Holy crap, where do we begin? What distro/version of Linux? What version of VirtualBox? What have you tried? How doesn't it work, what are the errors? How the hell can anyone help you when you give no info? Read this: http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-ques...html#beprecise Then come back and ask. |

What are the guest Operating Systems you're running? Are there errors, is there any indication that there's a problem? > Other than the VirtualBox version number, I stated everything else in the > previous post. Did you happened to read my post? <sarcasm> No, I didn't read your post, I just like guessing what you said</sarcasm> I know you didn't state version numbers, errors you encountered, what your guest OS is in VirtualBox. Just to save us both some time, since you don't like asking questions properly with relevant info; if your USB stick mounts in ubuntu, then just add the mount as a 'shared folder' in VirtualBox. And mount it on the guest OS. That's the poor-man's way to mount USB. |
