What he means is there is only one physical power button. This is the
button on the computer that you press to turn the machine on. If your
computer also has a "Sleep" button, this will be a different button from the
power button. Usually only laptops have a power button AND a sleep button.
Both of these have separate settings in the Power Options, and you can set
either or both to be the "Hibernate Button".

All of this assumes you have enabled hibernation with "Powercfg /Hibernate
On" in a command prompt window run as administrator and rebooted.

The Start Menu power button is a separate setting from the physical power
button.

NP. He seems confused by the physical power button and power button in the
start menu. Both have their own settings in the power options in control
panel, and either or both can be set to be the "hibernation button".

IAC, hibernation in Vista works exactly like hibernation in XP. The only
catch is that you have to enable hibernation first in Vista. I have 2
Vista laptops set to hibernate when I press the physical power button.
Works fine.
