Recently, there is a problem with hibernation on my machine - the
computer will not recover from it. It hangs in the boot (restore from
hibernation) process.

Is there a hibernation log file, where can I see what causes the
failure? I know there a is a boot log, but this is not what I search.

In the Event Viewer drill down to

Applications and Services Logs
Microsoft
Windows
Diagnostics-Performance
Operational

Look for Standby Performance Monitoring events. It's not a log of all events
but it may point the way to problems.
