Hi all,

I purchased the Home and Student Edition of Office 2008 for Mac about 2 months ago. Now I've discovered that in order to be able to synchronize Entourage with my computer at work I need Exchange support and that this means I need the full version of Office 2008. But I can't figure out how to upgrade. I've done a variety of searches but have turned up nothing. Any suggestions? Also, I am an academic so if at all possible I would like to purchase the upgrade path at the academic discount (if there is one).

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have,
Abe Z.

You cannot upgrade the H&S to the full version. This comes up frequently and
most people assume you should be able to upgrade it, but there is no
upgrade. Sorry!

If you had Office 2004 or Office X, you could upgrade it to the standard
version. I'm not sure if the H&S for the older versions qualify any longer
for upgrade to Office 2008. Remember upgrade DVDs require you to have the
old version installed or have the CD to insert for proof.

Thank you. That's what I was afraid of.

Contact the vendor you got the H&S version from... It's unlikely but they
may have a "flexible" exchange policy if you sweet-talk them :-)

Good Luck |:>)

You can't upgrade. You must purchase the full version. Check with your
institution for pricing.

Although upgrade isn't available for Home and Student, if you're part of a university that has a volume licensing agreement with Microsoft, you can get academic discounts if you're an active student or faculty member.

If you qualify, the academic prices can be lower than the upgrade price.

To clarify, Office 2004 Student and Teacher Edition IS eligible for version upgrade. Office 2008 Home and Student is NOT.

The upgrade is intended to benefit customers who bought the previous version of Office for Mac.

Hope this helps?
