We have a new Dell running SBS2003 R2, freshly installed a couple of
weeks ago and running pretty much without incident. We set up a Mobile 6 phone yesterday for the first time. Server has selfsigned cert which was successfully exported and then loaded onto the phone. We installed Activesync 4.5 using the phone's supplied cd. We also downloaded and installed the current Mobile Admin stuff from Microsoft. Phone synced correctly, sent and received emails correctly. Now, trying the mobile admin function, we select the mailbox we used for the phone in order to test the remote wipe function, and we get the following error, which is referenced all over the web. The common fix appears to be "remove ssl from exadmin virt directory", which I tried, restarted exchange, but it makes no difference. I found other references to this exact problem but no solutions were offered other than the ssl idea. Thoughts? ------------------ The results: Server Error in '/MobileAdmin' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I don't rarely suggest other NG's as the solution but in this case
microsoft.public.exchange.mobility might be a better option Lanwench who posts here frequently is an Exchange MVP and may have some other thoughts Chris Rue, an SBS MVP who does lots of Windows Mobile work has a posting here http://www.chrisrue.com/funcave/2006...vice-wipe.html I've not read it and don't know if it addresses your issue, but you might try looking around Chris' site for more on this topic if this doesn't do it |

Hello Nicholas,
Thank you for your post. Please allow me to confirm that my understandings are correct. As I understand it, the issue is: You have just set up a Mobile 6 phone to sync with your new SBS 2003 server. The phone synced correctly to send and receive emails. However, when trying to test the remote wipe function, it generates errors. If I have misunderstood your concerns please feel free to let me know. First, many thanks for Cris's input too. I also agree that you post this issue in our special Windows Mobile newsgroup for more information. Meanwhile, as far as I know, I'd like to provide you with the following suggestions: First, as Cris suggested, please refer to the Chris Rue, an SBS MVP who does lots of Windows Mobile work has a posting here http://www.chrisrue.com/funcave/2006...-remote-device -wipe.html It tells you how to configure the remote wipe feature on Exchange server console. Also, you may also try Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool: Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...d23-d145-4dbf- a2cc-e0b4c6301453&DisplayLang=en Hope this helps. Thank you for your time and cooperation.
